The handy A5 folder, beautiful and thought provoking in its own right, contains  our startling map of Dartmoor as it could be in 2025.

Yes, a work of fiction, but based on many true stories, all of them well-researched.

No, not for navigational use, but the ideal addition to a day out on the moor or a deeper exploration of this extraordinary place.

From wolf to wildcat, bison to beaver, orchid to osprey, search the map’s detail to find the hidden animals. The boar and lynx might be easy to find, but what about the sturgeon, the ash black slug and the blue ground beetle? 

On the map’s reverse side is an alphabetical introduction to the animals and habitats you might expect to enjoy in 2025, along with some surprising facts and beguiling questions. Find out why molinia is a menace, not all ponies are pure blood and boar need boundaries,

The 20-page A-Z guide goes deeper into the moor’s possible future. It uses the ‘dark days of 2025’  as a benchmark, contrasting the 2025 reality with the 2050 aspiration. It builds on the information included on the map and fills some of the gaps.

It includes a  ‘Where to go While we Wait for 2050 to Arrive.’ section, with tips on the best places in Devon, the UK and further afield to see what might be coming Dartmoor’s way.

It concludes with a list of books, resources and web sites that can inspire further exploration and deepen your enjoyment.

The A5 format is easy to post, carry or store. The map can be opened out and used as a poster.
